Hey

I have noticed, that when I compress a tv recodring to the default mpeg2 format, the quality just really sucks compared to the "native" dvr-ms format.
Seems there is a lot of noice/flickering in the compressed result files :(

Has anyone else noticed this?

Hmm, that is strange as it is supposed to just be unwrapping the mpeg2 data, not converting it in any way. Have you checked the graphs (using GraphEdit) when a dvrms and an mpeg2 file play on your computer? Maybe a different graph is somehow being built? I don't see how that would happen though...

No, I have not.... have never used GraphEdit..is it part of MP itself?

No, it is a separate program. Do a search. I don't think there is much chance that is the issue though. There is supposed to be no difference between a dvrms file and the mpeg2 file extracted from it, except the wrapper is removed.

Ah,,, when I view the two files from within MP on my tv they both look fine, but if I view them on my pc screen, I see flickering... could it be the tv-pal resolution vs tft resolution causing it?
