Please can someone point me in the direction of a table which gives me the codes required for keys to be sent to MP from a remote. I promise I have looked long and hard.

I am trying to configure the MPControl Plugin for IRSS to make MP receive a keypress when the remote control button is pressed.

So I am using the ACTION KEY PRESSED

I have two boxes in the config app which want a code number to generate a key press in response to a remote command.

I have searched the MP forum and can find no such info though many others have asked the question.

I am trying to send the keypress F1 and Y from the blue and green buttons.

Seems a fair question - on the whole.

Please

well according to the ascii code table a capital Y is code 89.

Tried to send capital Y to the music app and it actually thought I'd sent a small case y - it helpfull prints the received code at the top of the screen in curly brackets.

Then wondered if lower case and capital codes had been reversed so then I tried code 121 for lowercase y.

MP did not seem to receive any code. Which is odd to say the least.

God knows how one would go about sending say F1 - for which the simple ascii table has no entry.

So I dont think the key pressed command is working properly -unless the code table is not simple ascii.

May have to dig out girder to sort this out. I may be some time.

I am not sure how this works through the MP control plugin, but you may have better luck getting this through translator, which you can get key presses defined easier with brackets. check here
FYI, I have been unable to get the cntrl-shift keys to work in MP with translator and shortcuter, but for those, I can use the MP control plugin to assign jump to window.

Don't know if this helps you, hope it does.

Many thanks for taking the time to reply.

I ended up digging out girder4 and now have it working well. I think a further confusion in all this was the fact that recent MP versions seem to be case sensitive for keyboard short cuts. Presumably this was not always so.

Any way I have remote working very well now via USB-UIRT without IRSS or internal MP USB-UIRT plugin (which I found to frequently stop working).
