question re ASIO sample rate in BASS engine (1 Viewer)

Hi, I am still in early days of discovering MP & I've searched but cannot find answer to this question.

I would like to use the ASIO setting in MP Config>Music>ASIO, but if I choose this option and select the correct ASIO device,when I play music it switches sampling rate on my soundcard from 48k to 44.1k. When this happens I then lose audio from TV/videos as windows is set to 48k but the card has changed to 44.1k.

Is there a way to change the ASIO sampling rate of BASS engine, or is it best to set windows and soundcard to 44.1k?

Any help most appreciated

Is there a way for the BASS engine to automatically match its output sample rate to that of the incoming source?
The particular application I'm looking at is using MediaPortal to drive high end audio (Devialet D-Premier) with an unmodified (bit-perfect) LPCM audio stream, including hi-res (>48K 16bit), but without upsampling (or otherwise modifying) standard resolution music files.

Edit: OK, it looks like the PureAudio plugin is the most likely to cover some of these types of usage (although development seems quite sporadic/inactive at the moment).
