Hi Zebons,
for the update. From Smirnuff's earlier post, it is clear how the key configuration is supposed to work for ordinary keys. When I open Configuration for MyRefresh in Setup, I see "Ee%, which presumably means that any of the keys"E, "e" or "%" will cause the skin to be reloaded. How can special keys like "F5" be specified?

? do you just type in f5 ?

I used to use this plugin, but it doesnt seem to work for me anymore either with latest svn. I was trying to get it to update changes to
Skin\BlueTwo wide\mytvguide.xml
I presume it should work ok for that? tried old one and zeebons new one. Press Key makes no difference. I presume you still put it in process folder? back to closing re-running MP

BTW did anyone consider using css for this sort of thing

zebons have posted a new version of this plugin. You can download it there (french Site), but he had posted it in your site too

i can't find an answer to this: how do you use function keys like f5 ?

you will need to have the MyRefresh plugin installed. Do you have that 1? Once you have it, any time you edit a skin xml file you press the F5 function key and the skin refreshes. This does not work with graphics, you will have to remove the cache for that.

it's worth noting two other cool things:
* if you refresh by using the refresh key, any media you are playing will restart
* if you go to another screen and go back, the refresh will occur without restarting any media you have playing
* this plugin will refresh any strings you edit in the language files in addition to any skin files.

You can also switch to another skin, clear the cache you're working on, change graphics, and then re-select the work in progress skin (the one you're working on)
Any changes including graphics will then be rebuild without restarting MediaPortal.
Still, being in one screen, pressing F5 and directly seeing the changes is my preferred method
