Wasn't sure where to ask about this, and if it is possible.
When watching a tv/videos we often have to have the remote at hand to balance the volume level between dialogue scenes and scenes that contain noisy gun fighting/car chase type scenes. Is it possible to automatically get a balance between this?
We are using the latest LAV filter, and while it happens on stereo videos, it seems worse on videos that have surround only as the source. So, my questions are:

- Is there a downmix setting from surround to stereo that I can use that would even it out?
- Is there a way of capping the dB level output for the louder scenes?
- What else could I look at to achieve a less abrupt jump in volume?
