Raspberry PI - MediaPortal Front End Support? (1 Viewer)

Hi, with the immanent release of the Raspberry PI it would be AMAZING for MediaPortal to support this as a front end, it's the perfect front end hardware for MP, just need the software writing for it.
At last an extremely cost effective usable front end which you could use in every room in the house which you want your media.

The RPi uses Linux, so no chance of MP1 running it

Not sure what will happen with MP2 (but currently that wont work either).

I know that MP is Windows only, but is there any chance someone is keen to develop a Linux front end, surely an extremely worth while project?

Hi again,

MP1 uses microsoft specific technologies - hence wont work (no one is/was willing to virtually rewrite MP1 to work).

I'm not sure about MP2??

Your best bet is to keep an eye on http://www.raspbmc.com/ and hope that they merge the xbmc pvr code at some point, then you could use xbmc as a front end to MP.

Edit: Openelec may be a better bet as I think they already have pvr + tvheadend in their regular builds so the MP plugin may come soon and they also have a Raspberry pi build http://openelec.tv/news/item/235-openelec-on-raspberry-pi-our-first-arm-device-supported

it wont run windows? bleh.. i would have bought one to run the tv server but.. not now
