Hi,

I am getting MP RC3 minimizes itself frequently on the beginning (but sometimes randomly) of playing MKV files.

I have tried VMR9 in non exclusive mode and the issue seems to go away, but then I get frequent tearing.

Please advise. :D

Hi,

thanks, I really don't know as this is a dedicated HTPC, maybe some systray application (Catalyst, iMon or Asus Wlan, Asus AI), but I have disabled ballons on this ones (the one that allowed it) and I can't see any ballon on MP mimimize. I even have the registry key EnableBallonTips set to 0x00000000.

Same problem with minimizing

I have had the same problem since installing RC2. My system is a dedicated HTPC as well so it does get annoying to have to un-minimize MediaPortal between shows. (For me) I've noticed this occurs when watching videos encoded with the divx codec. For a brief moment the divx logo appears in the systray. It happens so fast you can't see it 2 out of 3 times. I haven't found a divx configuration option to disable the occurrence.

While I'm a little disappointed the defect was originally targeted for RC3 and is now re-targeted to 1.0.1, at least they seem to have a good idea what is causing it. I'm neck deep in code all day long at work so it's nice to get home and just relax and watch something on my HTPC. :D Thanks to all the developers and testers who have worked so hard to get MediaPortal where it is today. :D

This appears to be caused by mkv files that have subtitles, as a tray icon appears for the vobsub tool. Strange how this has suddenly started happening though as it's never been an issue before.

it does seem to be the Divx codec causing the most complaints, even using their own Toggle systray tool does not stop this from happening.

Easy to confirm, use xvid instead.

Paranoid, I noticed that the directvobsub filter also makes a tray icon appear when I start a mkv file with subs, could this be the same problem?

Why not try ffdshow instead? It can replace both DivX/XviD and directvobsub :)
