RC3, TV-Server Preview works, MediaPortal doesn't (1 Viewer)

Having a few problems at the moment. I have scanned for all my channels and have confirmed they are working in the preview window. But when I get to actually using MediaPortal everything is fine until I try to turn on the TV in My TV, this is where it just sits there and does nothing (unable to press any buttons I simply have to close it myself).

Tried using VMR9 and EVR and get the same situation. It is a singleseat setup using PowerDVD8 codec's.

I've replicated the problem using Debug-Mode. Hopefully I can get the problem solved, thanks!

I have exactly the same problem.

I basically have the same system as you except I have an ATI 3200 graphics card (on the motherboard).

It looks like something in MP is crashing, the following line in your log is very suspicious:

I have the same exception in my log and it seems to occur when reading the h.264 steam. We need a developer to fix this one I fear.

I wasted all day Sunday trying to get this to work after spending heaps of $$$ on a new htpc.
In the end I did a clean uninstall of RC3 and installed RC2.

RC2 works fine.

I'm looking forward to RC3 so hopefully this can be resolved soon.

Good to hear RC2 is working. I'll head on back to that I guess until a newer version/fix comes out.

Yeah I have exactly the same problem. Being a new user of MP I cannot offer much in the way of help yet, but sure I will learn along the way. Hope someone can fix this.

The latest with this is that I cannot get it tow work with RC2 either. What am I doing wrong please? Is a clean install just uninstalling mediaportal and tv server and then deleting the folders followed by installing again??

Yeah that is what I did. I can't get the PDVD8 codecs working for h.264 so no hardware acceleration ! Using ffdshow to get it working.

I tried FFDSHOW to no avail. I also have ATI hardware acceleration, PowerDVD7 and still nothing!! This is really frustrating.
Why the hell does it work in preview on TV server but not in the front end??

It's about the windows firewall. I'm at work now, but I installed a pctools internet suite on my htpc and forgot to disable windows firewall (so now I have 2) will check this pronto when I get home.

Not for me as I don't run any Software Firewalls.

I've installed k-lite and used ffdshow for MPEG2/h.264/Audio Decoder with Vista's EVR and it seems to do hardware decoding just fine now PowerDVD's codec's just refuse to work.
