Right, new components and OS have demanded a new setup. I originally had MPC-HC x64 set as the external player but MediPortal wouldnt see the ffdshow x64 codecs so I changed it round to MPC-HC x86 and x86 codecs. When I went to test playing I got the 'cannot play file: codec' problem that many others are having. Its at this point that I noticed that the external player option in the Mediaportal config is missing now, I reinstalled MPC-HC x64 and the file played straight away. This didn't bring back the option of external or internal player in the config, where the hell has it gone?!

Help!
