ok i had my htpc setup working nicely but as most of you would know the tinkering had to be done... i have restored the image of the working mediaportal a few times after breaking certain things somehow  ... anywayz today i restored to the state where scheduled recordings worked but after changing a few things unrelated to recording such as adding my tvseries plugin i can schedule a recording which the htpc wakes up for from s3 but it doesn't record anything until either i manually go to the tv screen which is weird or until i restart media portal... but... if i go to the tv screen the recording starts but if i go back to the home menu it stops... very weird... now i could just restore the image but i'll end up changin what i've just changed again so if anyone knows why this might be happening then it could save me alot of time... thanks....

Logs really would help on this, but the only time i remember something like this happening, was when a valid recording folder had not been chosen for a second TV card.

ok i checked the recording folders and were all fine... so i restored the previous image and realised that it still wont record until you go to the tv screen... i then figured out the reason for this is because i have to restart my tvservice twice before it will do anything (dont know why) so what happens is after the first time it is unable to restart it until you go to the tv screen (again dont know why)... i fixed this by having mediaportal start after the tvservice has been started twice which works perfectly... now heres where the title is still relevant... if i wake the computer manually its fine... if i wake it from a scheduled recording it starts on time but it wont do anything until i move the mouse... the monitor stays blank and the system is idle... then when i move the mouse the display comes on and i can seeing mediaportal loading up... so atm to start a recording that is scheduled i have to move the mouse...now i know this has kinda gone from being a mediaportal problem but all i need to do is find out either why the display stays blank (maybe a setting somewhere) or a way to have the mouse move without using a mouse... as i said in the title really weird...please help :(
