Hey all,

I asked before about if the HP Expresscard TV Tuner would work with media portal, and I was referred to a "Getting your H/W TVCard to be supported..." (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/showthread.php?t=1573) page.

Although, I found another page on the wiki, "Add TVCard to Natively Supported List" (http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/Add_TVCard_to_natively_supported_list).

Which is the recommended path for getting my card to work?

(I followed the instructions on the "Add TVCard to Natively Supported List" page, and got stuck at step 2: "...add the Microsoft DVBT (or DVBS / DVBC) Network Provider under Insert Filters and BDA Network Providers."

... my GraphEdit insert filter page doesn't have a "BDA Network Provider" item. It simply has BDA CP/CA Filters, then BDA Reciever Components)

What to do, what to do...

Thanks for all your help in advance,
~turtle.

PS: I'd be glad to provide as much info as needed, as I'd really like to get this card working!

As your card is an Analogue TV card (presumably with a hardware MPEG2 encoder), then the instructions for DVB-T cards do NOT apply. DVB-T cards are for digital TV reception and require BDA drivers to work with Mediaportal.

So you need to follow the instructions in the first link you listed, with reference to hardware analog TV cards only - ignore the references to DVB-T cards.

    HTH....?

    Hey,

    Thanks for the reply!
I followed the first articles' instructions, and went through the filter list, adding anything that seemed related to my TV tuner. Strangely, there weren't as many filters as shown in the example (there were like 5, all in different filter categories). Am I missing something? Or, is that all the info you guys need?

Attached is a screenshot of my quite simple-looking GraphEdit.

    Thanks again,
    ~turtle.

PS: Even though they didn't have the NAME of my TV Tuner, the 'Python' components in the screenshot seemed related. That's why I added 'em.

    Hi Taipan,

Yeah, I'm about to send. Just wasn't sure if all the required info was there/missing something.

    Thanks for the help!
