Hello,

how can I reconfigure the database connection of MP?

I have a MySQL server on a linux box and successfully established a connection with MP. There's no local SQL server on that MP box.

How do I get to this SQL config window that appeared the first time I installed MP, where you can enter the user, password and database server and database name? Or is there any config file which can be edited? I found some thread mentioning a "gentle.config" but I couldn't find that file on my MP box.

Any help appreciated.

AW: Reconfigure MP database connection

Hi Razorblade,
really not easy to find. Just know it because we discussed a few weeks ago the same question.

Running "SetupTV.exe" with --configure-db should help you.

I also need to re-set the server connection via the SQL Server.

I have launched the SetupTV.exe but cannot find any tabs or entries for configure-db...

I had an older version of MP installed but have compelted a format of C: and reinstalled Vista (how long did that take with all the updates!) so am upgrading to 1.1.0

I tried to uninstall/reinstall MP again to see if the box appears that you should get when fist running the TV server config but it did not appear. Interestingly it did appear when I went through the Control Panel >Uninstall MP. It popped up during the uninstall wizard process.

Help!

Thanks.

Just to add...

If I scan for TV Channels, all available channels are found. If I click Preview I get a pop up with eh live TV displayed fine.

Does this mean the SQL Server Database part is working and I don't have to worry!? And I just need to carry on and configure the EPG (DTV or WebEPG) etc.

Any advice would be appreciated.

You need to run "SetupTV --configure-db" (without quotes) from the command line.
cd into the directory where the TVServer is installed and then run the command above.

If everything is green after pressing the "test" button the db connection works fine.
