"Record Now" made recorded programs disappear (1 Viewer)

I messed up last night. Started "Record Now" to record a program I had forgotten to put on my recordings list, and forgot that I had done so. Watched several other programs that were recorded, then went to bed. Today when I went to "Recorded Programs" MediaPortal locked up and I had to ctrl-alt-delete to kill it and after rebooting, I found that there were no recorded programs, just one program that started and ended at the time I restarted MediaPortal after rebooting. Hard drive is only 1/3 full, the files appear to be there, but the database appears to be hosed. Tried using mysqlcheck in a mysql command line session, but kept getting syntax errors I couldn't understand. Windows XP, MediaPortal 1.2.3 that has worked fine for about a year and a half.

I'd like to recover the database so I can watch the Michael Palin "Brazil" series I recorded last week, but not bad enough to pay $200+ for a MySQL recovery utility.

Any suggestions are welcome.
