Hi - 2 problems here. I have searched but can't find any solution here.

First, when playing back recorded TV on large files, I can't skip or fast forward. If I do it freezes on the frame playing when I try to skip and stays there. I can stop and return to Mediaportal. If I try to play again and resume from the last point it just stays frozen at that point.

This does not occur on small recordings (say 15 minutes), but on recorded movies (say 1.5 hours) it always happens. I can play back the large files from the beginning if I don't try to skip.

Second, occasionally Mediaportal can't open the graph so no TV. I usually leave the machine in standby and resume to use it. Mediaportal is closed down before standby and restarted after resume. About one time in ten it can't open the graph and use the tuner. The usual fix is to restart media portal. Not good for WAF!

I have attached a mediaportal log which has both problems occur in it. I also attached the error log which has an SQL problem.

More information - I discovered the long Recorded TV files behave the same if I play them with Mediaplayer or MCE - they freeze if you try to skip or fast forward, but don't crash the player. So Mediaportal is doing something strange when recording them.

I occasionally get the same thing. Its rather annoying not being able to fast fwd like all problems with the HTPC its not great for the WAF. Does anyone have any ideas about this?

I can report the same problem when trying to fast forward the picture freezes, but it's no problem to play again everything works fine except that the picture freezes, so it's hard to be able to know were to resume again.

But when i'm rewinding i get another problem, sometimes i think he's forwarding instead and when it's actually are rewinding the time is mixed up.

I'm guessing you're recording analog which has to be encoded before it's written to your HDD. WHAT quality settings are you using? Sounds like a low setting which doesn't create many I-flags, or B frames... I'm NO expert but try increasing the quality to a higher bitrate and see.

Yes I am recording an analog signal using a Hauppauge 500 card. Occasionally the file that is recording pauses quite a bit and when its really bad it freezes on playback if I attempt to ffd. I have boosted the quality setting all the way up and I havent had the freeze on FFD happen yet but I still get the pauses, which are almost like a DVD skip. I just installed the latest version and will see what happens now.
