Recording does'nt work (1 Viewer)

Finally i made my HTPC working with MP.
But there is one essential part not working: MP does not record scheduled programs most of the time.

I use webEPG to grab my EPG informations for aontTV (IPTV-stream - so no tv tuner card is used).
LiveTV, Timeshifting - works great, but recordings only from time to time.

MP tries to start the recording correctly ("rec"-icon is shown) but nothing happens. the "rec"-icon goes on and off several times and then give up (no recorded files to find in my recording-folder)

Plz give me a hint to solve this problem.

Hi, I'm not exactly sure what the problem is, but the messages in your tvserver_TsWriter logs points to a problem writing to the D: drive:

28-02-2011 17:44:18.851 Recorder:unable to create file:'D:\MediaPortal\Aufnahmen\Die Simpsons - ORF 1 - 2011-02-28.ts' 3

It looks like you have heaps of space on the D: drive, so maybe it's permissions or something?

This was my first idea too - but i tried the default-directory (drive C: ) as well. I'm not sure, but it works from time to time (in very rare cases) so it seems not to be a permissions-restriction.

any other ideas?

Could it be that it's trying to create a filename with double-byte characters? There's a couple of threads https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mediaportal-1-1-0-rc-1-2-496/recorder-unable-create-file-81721/ and https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/.../cannot-record-shows-double-byte-names-53580/ that mention a similar issue.

If so, it looks like the workaround is to leave out the program title/channel name from the TS naming format.

wow - that was the right hint for me. After a view tests without containing the channel-name in the record-file it seems to work.
