I got a wierd problem that MP does not record the whole show. The show is around 60 min long so the rec should be 1Gb big. When it records on Channel 5 it only comes up with 200-500Mb and only around 20-30 minutes. The logs shows that it recorded the whole show but it doesn't! TV5 is encrypted and I got another show that records everyday on a non-encrypted channel and all is ok there. I was wondering if any has seen this behaviour before. I can see in the log that mp looses signal(even if its 99%) but still it is saying that is recording.
U guys have any tips on where to look for errors?
The wierdest thing is that I tried to schedule a recording on channel 5 during the day and that records fine. the Las vegas is at 02:00 at night.....

I just tried it manually on channel 5 and it stops to increase the recorded file after a while. It must have somthing to do with
2006-09-30 20:34:30.718750 [Info.][4]: DVBGraph: Unlocked... wait for tunerlock
2006-09-30 20:34:35.750000 [Info.][4]: Tuner locked: False
2006-09-30 20:34:36.281250 [Info.][4]: DVBGraph: Unlocked... wait for tunerlock
2006-09-30 20:34:38.500000 [Info.][4]: Tuner locked: True

But why should it stop to record even if it thinks it doesn't have a signal?

To clarify...I am not watching the tv, it is a scheduled recording.

I think I solved my problem.....
When I changed the freq on the channels I had problems with, it seems that the tuner unlock went away. It seems like MP scans wrong OR my provider runs double channels all over so I had this before
Kanal 5 - 633875
changed it to
Kanal 5- 634000

and now channel 5 is ok. Seems like the offset of 125 is not really functioning so I am manually going through all my channels to see if a offset is correct or not. Note that I have picture on both frequencies!

Really wierd, but it seemed to make my prob go away.

I have done a complete rescan of my channels and it seems that all channels are on QAM64 and QAM256, but that didn't make a difference, the problem is still there. Watching TV goes perfect except when recording.

Can anybody of the devs take a look at this? please

The problem isn't only when recording but also when watching with timeshift enabled. Watching without timeshift gives no problems.

    Guys,

You need to get your story straight and spell out clearly what the problem is. I have read this thread a couple of times and I am confused...

Please describe the exact problem and describe exactly when it does occur, and when it does not occur. For example:-

Does it occur on all channels, or just encripted channels?

Does it always only occur with timeshifting on or during a recording?

What version of MediaPortal does the problem occur?

When exactly, does the problem not occur?

Are you sure that your TV signal level is adequate (this would be a cause of the "signal lock" problem)?

ocram - it would be helpful if you provided your MediaPortal.log file that shows what happens when you notice this problem.

And please provide as much information as possible that would help us to suggest some possible solutions.
