Recording stopped halfway through a two hour film after setting the scheduler (1 Viewer)

Apologies for maybe not posting in the right area!

I am using MePO 1.6 on a nice Windows 8 pc. It has been flawless for most of the time

The scheduler has only ever cut off halfway once before..............perversely trying to record the same film last year. A little bit annoying.

Here is the log from last night's failed recording- it stopped halfway through

PS: Please disable EPG grabbing for "Marketplace". This is not getting you EPG and is causing your tuners to be constantly in use => short life, longer log files.
PPS: Please include all the log files - especially TsWriter - next time, and please zip them.

Thanks for the reply. The film called Notorious only recorded for 68 mins

So, I take it you've confirmed that the recording really is only 68 minutes long? It is possible (though unlikely) that TsReader is not measuring the duration correctly.

Aside from the EPG grabbing at the start of the recording, nothing else is logged... except this:

I've looked up the value for that WM_* message. It seems to be a system time change.
So, did you have a daylight savings change on that night or something?
The timing of that message is about right for the end of the recording.

Hi. Yes we had daylight savings at 01:00 on 30 March 2014

I am at work now and so cannot check the recording again. I will update you again when I get back home

I see. So time changed from 1am to 2am (ie. an hour was lost). That probably explains everything, and I predict the recording really is an hour short.

I'm genuinely sorry that this recording hasn't worked out for you. Recordings during/over daylight savings changes are tricky for obvious reasons. Fixing this would require massive changes. All times in the database would need to be stored as UTC/GMT rather than local time, and all plugins that populate or read that information would need to be updated. At present I simply don't have that kind of time available. I'm sure it is cold comfort, but at least there is an explanation.

Thanks for your posts. I have to confess, the daylight savings are the obvious culprit. I was so perplexed at the recording fail that I neglected to see the elephant in the room. This really does explain it way
