Isn't there a way to detect the card and based on that let the installation process decide to turn this feature on or off?

Unfortunately not. Theoretically all tuners should work fine, but this is not an ideal world. The issue is really the tuner drivers. Sometimes one version of a driver will work and another version won't...

By asking what I could do, I wasn't referring to myself but as a contribution to improve things.

I guess one thing you could do is report that your card didn't work in -->this<-- thread. I very often link to that when I encounter a problem that might be related. Perhaps we can start to build up a list of cards that don't work with the setting in there...

Well guys, that card pausing was clearly causing this behavior!
A BIG thanks for solving this, now I can rely again 100% on the system.

Could that also be the reason that when playing radio and changing channels, the same always starts over again from the point where I started listening to the first channel?

No, that is a real bug. I have a solution for it that I hope will be included in 1.2.0b.

Just a quick update: my patch for that bug that you mentioned has been accepted. SVN has been updated already and the fix will be in 1.2.0rc as I had hoped. Please test 1.2.0rc if possible when it is released to check that the fix is effective for you.
