Previously I used Home Cinemabut have changed to Media Portal because the EPG actually works. However, in Home Cinema I could schedule a future TV recording, then shut the application down and forget about it. When the recording time arrived an icon appeared in the system tray indicating the recording was
taking place and the programme would be recorded as required. In Media Portal however I seem to be unable to close the application once a recording has been scheduled and as it runs full screen I can no longer use the PC. I have searched the settings but have been unable to find anything that works. Can you help?

Hello If you use the client - server with TV-server (TVE3) and install both the server and client on the same PC you can close the client and the server make the recording in background.

Yip, and then MediaPortal even allows you to go one step further. With the PowerScheduler plugin, the TV server can even put your PC to sleep if it is not used and wake it just in time for the recording.
