First off well done on MP it is near perfect for me bar two problems which hopefully I can resolve with your help!

1. I cannot record in mpeg (known prob I believe) so have to record in .ts which works well, however, it leaves me with huge files (i.e 14gb for HD movie) I have tried to re encode these files to other formats in order to compress them down to say 4gb but always end up with sync issues. What are my options? is there a plugin or a way to record to another format? or can anyone point me in the direction of an idiot proof way to convert these files. I have read in some posts that dvr-ms is an option but I though that was MCE file format. Any help would be appreciated.

2. I have posted this in another thread but thought I would post here as it has more traffic. ITVHD is launching today here in the uk and is showing Euro2008 match tonight. It is possible to view this channel through other dvbs apps but not MP as it is a slightly different video stream. It will be a 'red button service'. any help with htis also would be appreciated.

There is virtually no difference size wise between mpeg2 and TS, so that's a normal HD filesize.

dvr-ms is used by the inbuilt TVEngine, which is dead as far as we are concerned.

Compressing HD material, not sure on this as none to really test, but i use mcebuddy and tmpgenc 4 express, both do ts files.
