Hello,

when i try to play any video outside of MediaPortal (in Media Player HC), everything works fine.
The same video played in MediaPortal is jerky. (Used codec is the same.)
I thing, problem is with calculation of Time Rate / Refresh Rate.

Best simulated is it on this video:

Here is picture of video played in Media Player HC:
Picasa Web Albums - Serak
Used filters:
Picasa Web Albums - Serak
As you can see, graph is perfect and Frame Rate = Refresh Rate.

And the same video played in MediaPortal.
Picasa Web Albums - Serak
Used filters:
Picasa Web Albums - Serak
Graph looks terrible. Picture is jerky. "Refresh Rate" = 50Hz and "Frame Rate"fluctuate 35-43fps
(Video is originaly 25fps.)

Here is my refresh rate settings:

I tried to change codec ffdshow to PowerDVD or another, but with the same result.

I'm really desperate. Any help will be more than welcome. Thank you.

As allways, some logs might help. Best run MP in Debug mode (use dedicated link in start menu) and post the result here.

It just looks like a GPU performance problem from the pictures - that's why the actual frame rate is fluctuating.

Is it OK with SD video ? - the video in the pictures is HD (1824 x 1024) @ 50Hz, so the GPU has a lot of work to do (de-interlacing possibly, rendering and scaling etc)....

Here is log File. I've reinstalled SAF6 and this is result: As you can see, MediaPortal now plays my test video with MPC-mpeg2 codec despite of codec setting in MediaPortal configuration. (In configuration I have set for mpeg-2 ffdshow codec). I can choose another codec (PowerDVD mpeg-2) but MediaPortal ignore this setting and use always MPC-mpeg2 codec.
Media player HC use ffdshow codec with no Problem.

SD videos are OK, but my test video is .ts with HD resolution and Problem is still here.

(Just for info: HDD is in good condition)

i am a little confused, your logs to not contain MediaPortal.log and Error.log file. Could you check where they are?

Here is new log File. Hmmm.. MediaPortal.log not included. Can anybody tell, why is not generated?
I have not noticed, that .ts files are played with TV Codecs, so my Problem with using of MPC-mpeg2 codec disappeared.

But still I have problem described in my first message.

    Aah, OK....

MP assumes any .ts file should be played using the tsReader 'splitter' filter and the 'TV' codecs.

This is fine for Live TV/TV recordings, but tsReader doesn't always handle other .ts files very well, so try renaming the problem file to a different extension e.g. .mts or .m2ts, which should force it to use a different splitter filter (and the 'Video' codecs).

Windows does have a TS splitter built-in, but if this won't handle the file try installing Haali splitter (with TS - transport stream - support enabled) or LAVFsplitter.

I've changed extention to .mts and .avi.
MP now use LAV Splitter instead Media Portal File Reader. The processor is now less busy. This is good news, but problem is still here. I have activated filter "deinterlaced" and now I have 25fps stable. (No fluctuations.)
25fps should be fine in theory, but in 50fps (MPC HC) is video visibly smoother.

I've tested GPU Load and Load is the same (70-90%). (Comparison video in MePo and MPHC)
