I am able to see movies and series. I have bonjour installed and wifiremote enabled. But I am not able to use the remote. I tried everything possible, including turning off the firewall. Currently it is on and I used Mark's guide to allow 4322. I am sure it is something simple.

I just fixed it. may be it's the same for you
in mediaportal config, have expert mode activated. now check if you see the WifiRemote plugin in the plugin -> process section. if you don't see it, you probably habe version 0.7.1 installed. de-install the plugin and download version 0.7.0. install it, check if you see the plugin in mp config, and if you do, chances are ampdroid remote works now (it did for me)

I have the same problem and i just tried what u wrote. and it was 0.7.1 installed, but i could see it in mpconfig. anyway i downloaded and installed 0.7.0 and voila
