That's the Vista one, not even sure it works with xp.

Strange the European remote is not available in France!!, i thought you had teletext services there.

Just did a search on ebay.fr, sure enough only the american remote available there, amazon.fr does a mce clone, must be a retailer that stocks the genuine thing somewhere.

I have the US MCE Remote as well, and I'd like to have the colored buttons and extra functionality. I also have a X360 Unverisal remote that has those buttons however some of the buttons don't work. I turned on extended logging, trying to get the command codes when sent, however some of the commands come in as "Left", "Right", "OK", etc. The logs show that these commands are not mapped and do not work. I checked my regular MCE remote and it sends the same remote commands but the logs still show the commands are not mapped. I suspect the regular remote sends a regular keyboard key command or something as well. I don't mind posting the command codes so that someone can add the extra mappings, but I'm not sure where to look.

Sure it's strange, we have teletext too even if not used as much as in the UK.
I'll try to find an english one otherwise !

Best remote? The Logitech Harmony.

You can program it to imitate any other remote

you may find that you need the hauppage driver installed simply to set up in mediaportal, once that is done you can stop it loading via msconfig and it will still work ok in media portal, least it does for me. and tbh for a freebie remote it is very good supporting all the main features OOB

It works fine now with the MS remote (UK).
Color buttons are really useful.

Worst case scenario, if you get hold of the US version, you could always map some keys that you don't use to something else. Example, the *-button to work as the "red" and so on.

how's the sunwave compared to the MSE?

do you if the IR remotes can handle a 180 degree angle ?

my pc is exactly next to me (180 degrees) and my TV is in front on me, do you think i should buy a bluetooth remote or buy an extention cable for the IR eye?
