I have an x10 USB RF MCE remote (model OR32E) that came with my PC (Packard Bell 2770). I have been trying for a while to get this to work with MP 0.2.2.0 but just can't figure it out.

At the moment I can only use the up/down/left/right controls. Can anyone help me set this up properly please! I just can't figure it out!

Hmmm, is it an x10 or an MCE remote? If it is X10, with that latest SVN you can teach it. Just go to the X10 config tab, and select learn. If it is MCE, I can't really help you as I'm not familiar with that remote.

    Thanks tofor the reply.

Sorry, I'm not clued up on remotes. Although the remote came with the PC and it is for MCE, the drivers that I had to install are x10.

go to the X10 config tab, and select learn.

I did that and it just says 'remote controll sucessfully set to channel 0' but when I go into MP, it's only the up/down/left/right that works.

Is there a way to configure each button manually? (I've been into the mapping options but I don't really understand it.)

    Anyway, thanks again

Hi rede, from the main MP page, download the latest SVN and install it. Go into the configuration, select the X10 - Other remote. The click on learn. Click start learn and press the appropriate key for the command. Some of the commands are extraneous, but the ones that you are interested in should be obvious. Since I just added this to MP, there is the outside chance that there may be a bug somewhere, so let me know if you have any problems.

Sorry I haven't replied sooner but I am having a major BDA driver problem! For some reason I keep getting a code 10 device cannot start probelm.

Anyway, I did manage to try the x10 with the latest SVN. I use learn and it finds all the buttons on the remote no problem.

However when I start MP it still doesn't work right. When I go into the main menu all seems ok but if I then go into MyTV for example, only Up/Down/Left/Right seem to work. Also it is seeing both the down press and the up press, ie if I press 'Down' it moves down twice.

I did try the x10.xml from the link below and although I did get that to work of sorts, I still get the same problem as above, ie if I press '1' it goes to channel '11'

Anyway, thanks for the help guys. When I get this stupid driver problem sorted I will try again.

    Hi rede,

Well since I wrote this section of the code, you're also helping me out. Double key presses are tricky. Make sure you uninstall all software that came with the remote. Then find any x10net.dll on your computer, from the command window type "regsvr32 /u x10net.dll" (without the quotes) and then delete that file. There may be more than one dll. Then, download the drivers that are in the link. If you are german they will be from medion, if not snapstream. Install those drivers and try again. You are sort of my test case for remote learning, so when you get a chance I would like to help you get this working.

Back up and running again. :D

I have a clean install so no x10 drivers.

If you are german they will be from medion, if not snapstream. Install those drivers and try again.

I am looking for the snapstream drivers (I am english.), which link is it?

I tried the link from Mpod but that just takes me to another thread in German. I found the X10.xml there but the other link takes me to Ebay.

    Hi rede,

The link should be at the bottom of the X10 tab in the configuration program. You should use one of the recent SVNs. If it is not at the bottom of that page, could you please post a picture of the config program?
