Remote Executes Twice (1 Viewer)

When I'm using Media Portal, the same remote actions are also being performed on the desktop so its opening applications and moving through the icons on the desktop. When I shutdown MediaPortal, the remote is still active on the desktop (does that make sense?). Sometimes each button is executed twice when MediaPortal is open and so using it is pretty tough.

So, how do I stop this? I assume there must be someway to disable it from the OS somewhere or something.

The MCE Remote when using the default "ehome" driver has some hard-wired system-wide functions.

When using the MCE Replacement plugin you need to remove the Replacement driver mappings in the button mapping section. There is a button for this.

If you use the Replacement driver you don't need to do that.

    Cheers,

    Oh the driver...
I hadn't realised I needed a specific driver. Thanks for your support Aaron.

You don't need the Replacement driver. Let me be clear about that. The plugin does work with the default ehome driver.

To use the default driver you just have to remove the Replacement driver mappings.

This is discussed in the documentation and on the forum, do a bit of a search.

    Hope that helps,

Yes I know it is clear. But it wasn't until you mentioned the word 'driver'. That gave me something to search for and found the answers I needed. Of course only then did I find that this question has already been asked and answered many times before.
