can someone please help me to get my hauppauge remote to work that came with the pvr 150. I have gone into the remote section of the configuration and selected the hauppauge tab, and use remote. Under status it says no problems found. However, in mediaportal, the remote does not function at all. Any ideas?

tried to follow the instructions in another thread that said to use hwclear and remove all drivers and search for conflicting hardware. So I did that and I downloaded the hauppauge remote plugin. It said to overwrite the IR.exe with the plugin exe(remote drivers from media portal) which I did. Then in the thread it said to reboot and when XP (keyword here) asks where the drivers are, point them in the direction of the drivers and the IR.exe and have it install them. Then run setup. However, with vista I can not point it in the direction. Vista automatically installs the drivers. I tried removing all of the drivers, and then reinstalling and running IR.exe (the drivers from media portal) after running setup. Still no luck.

This may be dumb but when I used the hauppauge remote I failed to seat the IR receiver in the 3.5mm jack correctly due to it slightly overlapping with the slot separators on the case.
I spent many days looking, updating drivers, reinstalling etc. etc. when just making sure the thing was plugged in would have resolved it!

...an easy way to check is to install the hauppauge WinTV software.
