I'm in the process of setting up a universal remote for all my components, and for the most part I've gotten everything working with MP (all the basic functionality works)...so now I'm at the "quality of life" issues that I could use some help with.

The most apparent thing right now is to generate a key that allows me to pull up whatever is currently playing into fullscreen.

So, for example, if you're watching a video file and hit "Back" (or exit, or escape, whatever), the file minimizes and keeps playing, allowing you to navigate through the menus. The only way that I've found be able to get to this without having to use a mouse to actually click on the minimized video is to go all the way back the root menu, go into the Shutdown menu (the one that says "Exit MP," etc.) and then keep toggling over until the minimized video gets highlighted.

As you can imagine, this takes about a dozen or so key clicks, which is a bit excessive.

So is there any "Bring currently playing to fullscreen" key command anywhere that I can map into my remote? It can be a keyboard shortcut, since I can map those into my remote, or even some type of script (I'm using intelliremote so this is easily done), but anything that will shorten this process to one key click would be awesome.

it does, but I don't see anything in there that calls back "Now Playing"

....unless I'm blind or something

I'm not actually home right now, so I'll have to test later.

I do know that I'm using the MP profile within intelliremote...I don't know if that's just emulating the MCE remote (seems like it, especially since I have MCE selected within MP config).

in response to robbo...
so if I were to just hit X on my keyboard that would bring it back to fullscreen (since, again, I can map the X keyboard click to my remote)

Edit:
So if X does that then that's simple enough, I wouldn't need to go through the MCE remote (i.e. rather than setting MyKey = Red = X, I can just do MyKey = X)

    - Yes

    General - MediaPortal Wiki

X is shown as switching between GUI / Fullscreen. The fullscreen being "Now Playing" for any media.

If your remote has telextext buttons then they should all be pre-defined in MCE mode, other colours BLUE zoom modes, Yellow subtitles, cannot remember green.

It goes to Now Playing if you do not have vizualizations on (then it will go to fullscreen viz).

is that a setting in MP somewhere?

Paranoid...I'm using the URC RF20, so a lot of the buttons either aren't there or have to be mapped themselves (for example, the remote doesn't have any of the Green or Red or Blue buttons...they're in intelliremote, and I can have intelliremote associate them with a certain button click on the remote through the learning function, but otherwise they're not there....so what I've been doing is remapping the MCE buttons that I don't need to things like Open MediaPortal and other such things)
