Remote special keys (1 Viewer)

Hi, tried to search for answers but didn't really find anything helpful.

So this is my problem:
I have Windows Media Center compatible remote with trackball mouse, and it works on Windows 7 Media Center with no problems, but with MediaPortal there are problems.

Remote works through HID-mode

What works:
Ok (enter)
Volume
Channel
Direction buttons
Back button
Pause, play, next chapter etc
Record
Numbers
Shut down program
Mouse, mouse buttons

What does not work:
My TV
My Music
My Picture
My Video
Live TV
Recorded TV
Guide
DVD Menu
Info (TV info)

Tried to map the buttons to keyboard shortcuts but mapping keys is greyed out in remote settings.
Also I could not even find action for TV Guide.

Wiki says nothing about mapping buttons/keys.

Set it to work as an MCE remote, not HID mode. That should fix it.

At least it will give you a idea.

Ok, if there is no other way, I'll try Eventghost.
I have used it previously.

Little bit weird that Mediaportal does not support same keypresses than Win7 Media Center for Mediaportal being a native windows app.

Set it to work as an MCE remote, not HID mode. That should fix it.

It does not work as an MCE remote in Mediaportal, only in HID mode.

Remote is Model RM518 radio frequency remote with trackball mouse bought from ebay.

BTW, Mediaportal launch service monitoring media center button activities does not work either, but the button works in Windows 7 Media Center.

Update: I googled the remote using its product code and first link leads to Mediaportal forum, did not think about googling/searching forum with the model number, sorry.

A shame that its not fully supported since it is pretty good remote (for a unknown brand ebay MCE remote).

What the manufacturer has done is hack directly to MCE links, not used the ehome driver links that a real M$ remote would use which MP supports, hence we do not have the same reaction in MP to remote.

Now if the remote manufacturers linked directly to our ID's, it would be a perfect world

Ah, that explains it, manufacturers should make the remote act as a keyboard sending keyboard commands that MCE and other similar apps recognize without a hassle. :\
