Remotely Shutdown Sever MP (1 Viewer)

Hi, I have a back end server which is in the lounge which also serves as my lounge TV, and also a front end MP in the bedroom.
What I am looking for is a way to shutdown the server from the bedroom front end MP using the remote control.
So at 1am when I finish watching a movie in the bedroom I would like top be able to shutdown the bedroom MP and the lounge MP server at the same time, which will save me trotting down the stairs and manually turning off the server PC.

Anyone know of a solution to this please?

Does not powerscheduler do this, or if 4TheRecord user windows own power settings.

If properly configured, the PowerScheduler server plugin will bring the server to standby when the last remote client has terminated (exactly: the MP client on the remote PC with PowerScheduler client plugin activated has terminated).

Hi, I have never used PowerScheduler, could someone give me a explanation on how to set this up, having the Main server goes to standby when all clients have shutdown.

Hi, Thanks for the link, I have looked through Wiki and it looks like there are many ways to configure the power scheduler to go to sleep when the last client has disconnected. Could someone let me know the the best way to configure it please?

Hi there,

This is the exact setup I have: singleseat (TV Server and Client, and then clients)

Simplitistic steps:

Install the PS++ plugin on your lounge HTPC (selecting TVServer and Client when installing) - For me the Alpha version doesnt work too good, but does for others.
Go into TVServer plugins, enable and configure the PS++ plugin. This is where you have two routes to go:

1) If you chose the Alpha version, you use the OS power management settings to decide when to go to sleep/hibernation (5 minutes, 10 minutes, 30 mins, etc)
2) If you chose the none alpha version, you can configure PS++ itself to manage when the HTPC will shutdown (this is what I do)

In PS++ config I have:
Profile: HTPC
Show individual settings: enabled
Standby/Wake: PowerScheduler++ forces system to go to sleep
Standby after: 10 minutes
Standby mode: Sleep
Wake up system for various events: enabled
Allow standby between: 0 and 24
EPG: I have nothing set as I use Miroslavs Sky EPG functionality
Process: I have added comskip as I run this to remove commercials
Prevent standby while MediaPortal is not running: enabled
Prevent power off while processes are running: enabled
Network: Prevent standby on network activity (miniumum is 2K) - I also have prevent power of during network activity enabled
I have reboot configured for twice a week too

Then the Mediaportal client plugin config:
I have nothing specifically configured as its all done by the TV Server config
