New to MediaPortal so this is my first install. I am trying to create something that can be used by non-technical users so don't want them tempted to tweak settings. I am happy to use the configurator for all of that.

I have disabled the settings plugin so now it is not possible to get into settings but the settings submenu still appears. This is in the default wide skin, basic home screen.

Is there an easy way to remove these now redundant menus?

    Hello,
you could edit xml skin file for Basic Home if you know how to do it.
BTW GUI Settings was my all-time favourite feature in MediaPortal...

Thanks that looks like it will do the trick. It looks as if the is a plugin.if_enabled(Settings) or similar that is missing which is why it displays the menu even when settings is disabled.

Agreed about the Settings plugin but I am trying to prevent anyone else being tempted to attempt to tweak things and the seems to be no way to lock settings with a pass code.
