Zion22: Remember!
1. That simple design cable, does *only* work with Ati based cards, for that to work on Nvidia cards you will need a more advanced design.
2. I've never heard of someone actually destroyed their TV with this, but may be a risk before you get the timings right with PowerStrip - need the timings that did work with my TV just let me know(my CRT instantly blanks screen when it is fed the wrong refresh)
Since i'm using a widescreen CRT i use a resolution of 1024x576 (4:3 would be 720x576 or 764x576) and this will cause some overscan.
3. As i know of - you must build this cable your self, you can't get a ready done cable from any electronics outlet.

Mpod: That is the driver package i'm currently using - in which MP say's that i haven't installed the latest ir-drivers.

FlipGer: It truly is amazing quality, i tried to go back to svideo again(since my TV only have one RGB in - and my xbox + stand-alone dvd player also would like one ;) I couldn't understand that i've actually used svideo for years before  so i went back to rgb ;P

I would be very happy if you could give me that ir-driver, right now i'm not at home, but later today i will be. TIA :)

bigj: That solution semi-worked, all background pictures are ok, but everything that is 'overlay' on screen like Nonafo's 'weather icon down-left', and Razor's preview window of live tv(down right) and fullscreen live tv's overlay(still razor) on lower half of screen is not where they should be(partly off screen etc) - all these probably has their own .xml/config file?

As i thought, the updated ir-driver did not fix my doubleclick problems. :( I tried to look for something in my mediaportal.log file, but couldn't seem so find any entry of ir-commands?

    Hi,

did you activate "extended logging"? Can be found in Configure->Remote->Hauppauge

Search for HCW in your logs.

Yes, I get this - OSD on TV and the 'REC' icon are the obvious ones.
*BUT* If after starting you go to SETUP->UI Calib and just exit, all is good until you restart MP!
Now, this is a pain, but it does suggest that there is just something awry in the order of initialisation - i.e. something loaded/reset via the calib setup screen that is being missed out by default. I've not had time to look into it yet.

    BigJ.

Bigj: yeah you are right that almost fixes it, as i am running Razor skin i am not shure if this is skin related or part of the same bug you mentioned - the thing it didn't fix a 100% were - I start a mp3, then jump to ex. mainscreen(menu), at that time i have a small window to bottom-right that switches between cd-cover and visualization - now the visualization is ok, but the cd-cover is adjusted too much down, so only about half of it shows.

Other than that it seems ok for the moment - one thing of curiousity - i get the feeling with MP that it is mainly used and produced for use on a monitor - and of course lately lcd/plasma screens - i think of how skins are both designed(font size/thickness, placement of items and such), and the fact it doesnt have built in support for adjusting the actual viewing aeria of skin - and NO i aint complaining - it just came to think of it today.

That is normal, and cannot be solved by MP. Shrinking the skin is not possible. The skinners have to make a skin which takes this fact into account.

Don't you think that this is a problem that should be addressed in the Mediaportal core? We all have varying amounts of over or underscan depending on our televisions and adjustments that may or may not have been made to over/underscan through their service menus.

We can't rely on the fact that everyone has the same setup. It's just not feasible. Meedio allows adjustment , beyondtv adjusts, sage adjusts, etc. There must be a reason they do this.
