    Or try using the ATI 11.4 driver, there's seems to have been some issue's after that one regarding playback\lost hdmi handshake :(

    Alright, thanks. Let me try that.
    Will also need to search for matching Realtek HDMI sound driver. (That part is annoying to be honest)

    I would first try the solution with setting the default resolution while not plugged in (then to your receiver). When hdmi handshake ist lost windows will change to the resolution you set when no TV is connected. If it is the same -> nothing changes.

    I tried the first method (removing the HDMI cable and setting the resolution). So far, so good. But still testing. MP is now playing some episodes of Mad Men; let's see how that goes.

    Probleem seems to be solved.
    (But now the screen goes black for ~1sec and then comes back normal - a tiny bit annoying - but it keeps playing nicely; So I'm happy enough)
