Resizing or minimizing MP 1.2.2 window fails (1 Viewer)

When running MP 1.2.2 in a GUI window, the following odd behavior occurs:

1. Resizing MP fails as follows:

1a. Attempting to resize the window (by dragging a corner or a side with the mouse) throws MP into Fullscreen Mode. If I hit ALT-ENTER to try to toggle back to window mode, nothing happens. But if I hit ALT-ENTER twice, then it toggles back to window mode--but the window still takes up nearly the entire screen, rather than the window of the size I was trying to get.

1b. If I then resize this huge window, again MP throws me back to FullScreen mode. But if I hit ALT-ENTER twice this time, then MP throws me back to a window of the resized size I wanted!

2. Minimizing MP fails as follows:

2a. Attempting to minimize the MP 1.2.2 window causes MP 1.2.2 to just disappear altogether. It even disappears from the Windows 7 task bar. It doesn't show up in Windows Task Manager\Applications either. But Windows Task Manager\Processes shows that the MP process is still running. Of course, now I can't restore it from the task bar.

2b. I can restore MP by double-clicking on the MP icon as if I'm starting it again. That works as long as MP isn't running a video or TV at the time. If it is, then the entire screen goes black. I have to CTRL-ALT-DEL and bring up Windows Task Manager to kill the MP process. And oddly enough, even if MP isn't running a video or TV, if MP is then in FullScreen Mode the usual close button in the top menu (the one with the X) no longer causes MP to quit.

Going to give you a very short answer, MP sucks big time as a desktop player, resizing stops video playback by design, nothing can be done to fix any of these resize issues, as MP was designed as a fullscreen interface.

MP2 on the other hand will overcome all this and be more desktop friendly

Sorry if you did not get the fix you wanted, this has been asked many times, and really is a limitation in the original core design.

hehe, yeaah MP1 isn't a prober Desktop App... It is designed as a fullscreen HTPC App which hides the OS...
I guess it is fixable but no one is interested in doing it because it is to much work for the benefit oO Some days ago I played with the code in that area and you have to be very carefully otherwise you can crash MP or destroy other functions... So see forward to MP2^^

No that's fine, at least I know I'm not the only one who has noticed this!

Other than that, I'm having a blast with MP. TV and DVDs look so much better in MP than in Windows Media Center, even though I've set MP to use some of the same codecs that WMC uses!
