Hi,

I have a problem making skins works as they should and i think it is due to my resolution and more specifically to my screen calibration.
so first here is the result i have in FilmStrip

I have the same problem in every skin.

So now let me explain what i think is the source of the problem. I use MP on a Panasonic PT A900 video projector. My resolution is 1280x720. But as i think it is the case on every projector, the resolution i set under windows is not really the resolution i get on my projector. What i mean is that the desktop is bigger than the projector drawing rectangle and so i have dead zone on every side of my screen. To deal with that i use the screen calibration of MP which allow me to shrink the MP View to avoid dead zone. It seems to be applied on the GUI and the videos which is just GREAT. But i think this is also what causes the shift bug you can see on the screenshot.

Does anyone knows how to either correct this skin problem or to deal with this dead zone problem outside of MP?
I have been looking on the web but couldnt find anything :s

Thanks

So yes, if you use MP to change the screen size to fill your screen then you are changing the pixels available to MP and thus it will rejig the skin accordingly. If the aspect ratio changes then you will get an undesirable effect with less covers being shown.

I also have a projector and have no issue with the desktop filling the whole screen.

This articel tells you how to set up your driver properly for both ATI and Nvidia.

Thanks for the link, just added it to the known Vista\xp issues, just to keep things in a central place.

With my respect to all, I don't believe what you have sugested above is a fix, because some times we still need overscan. I for example watch couple of sataliate analouge channels, and without overscan they look so ugly on the edges.

My TV has an option to disable overscan, which makes it even more convinant to me, becasue I don't have to adjust the nVidia desktop-resize option.

What's the point of the UI Calibration setting if it messes some parts of the GUI?

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I think riadmelb is right. This problem is affecting 16:9 CRT users a lot because nearly all of them have to use overscan correction.
But allso this Problem is caused by the GUI architecture itself and it´s usage in some skins and recreating the whole gui is not gonna happen before mp2
