Resurrecting MyPrograms plugin (3 Viewers)

I used MyPrograms on MP 1.2 for a long time and it worked great. I used it to run a few batch files I wrote to automate certain processes on my system. But now the merciless march of progress has forced me to upgrade to 1.3 so I'm stuck. I can't seem to get Multishortcut to work and there is no other plugin right now that can run an external program from within Mediaportal. In my opinion, MyPrograms is better than Multishortcut: It's easier to install, easier to add new programs, and it puts it all under one convenient menu within Mediaportal without requiring a PhD in computer science. It's a wonder that something like this is not a built-in part of Mediaportal itself.

Could somebody please consider updating MyPrograms? There has to be more than three of us who like this plugin.

Edit: Just out of curiosity, does anybody know why it's not compatible with MP 1.3?

I have talked to a friend of mine who is a "codemonkey", his answer was "show me the source and I'll see what I can make of it".
I'm not a codemonkey and I have no idea where to find anything ... I know nothing about github and all the other stuff people are rambling about in these forums... so where do I find the sourcecode for this one?

It's a bit more complicated than that, I looked at the code a while back and the issue with why it does not work now is it was using a control which was phased out in the 1.3 version, I tried to use the equivelent but the results were useless, I'm guessing that's half the reason it has not been updated quickly if it was a case of recompile or make a few tiny mods I would of done it.

Oh crap

From what I understand from the posts in this thread most people use it just to run scipts, not many interactive programs.. so maybe a new plugin made much simpler.
Maybe just a "MyScipts" that just run files from a specific folder (maybe even hardcoded path). That way there is not much for a gui or configuration or anything.

Doesn't sound too good. I take it then that the entire plugin, or at least a good part of it, would need recoding in order to make it work. It would take a serious commitment from a competent developer to do this. Unfortunately there does not seem to be much interest in this plugin anymore, especially with Multishortcut available. Sadly I am unable to get that to work for me. (I've posted a thread about my own personal hell trying to make it work.)

I'm making do by putting all my scripts in a custom jump-list in the taskbar, and using Autohotkey to pause MediaPortal and open that list when I press a keystroke. It's not a very elegant solution but it works.

Doh I've had 1.2 before i update to 1.5. Yes i dont update much if it works
I've used multishortcut before but i honestly also think myprograms is much more simple and i love to have it in one menu.

No chance this will ever be updated for 1.5?

MyPrograms may never be coming back, but now there's a good alternative. The MyMenu plugin has been updated and is now able to be used with the remote. I have it set up to pop-up when I press the Teletext button on my remote and it runs all of my scripts on demand. Plus it's at least thirty trillion times easier to set up than Multishortcut. The only thing it can't do is hide Mediaportal while another program is being run but other than that it works just fine.

Hmm ill check it out Thanks! But the external program does overlap it or do i have to grab my keyboard and alt tab for it?

I don't really understand Mediaportal in this sense; Where can I find a proper E-book reader(PDF-reader)? I used myprograms for that; but as I see there is no replacement!
