1) First, when I insert a dvd it imports it into my moving pictures but if i eject and reinsert it, the dvd gets added again. Anybody else having this problem.

2) How does everyone do their ripping of dvds. say I have a dvd in my moving pictures list and I then rip it with media slayer. it will double up. Do people just use the media slayer first before ever opening moving pictures. Also how do you set up media slayer so that moving pictures imports the ripped dvd automatically with movie information and coverart.

If you do not want your inserted DVDs to be added to Moving Pictures there is a check box you can uncheck in the config screen. Directly under the list of import paths it says something like "Automatically Import Inserted DVDs". Uncheck this.

As for getting duplicate entries for the same DVD (when ripping does not come into the picture) this is not something I have seen before. It may be a bug so if you can reproduce it, grab some logs and file a bug report (see my signature) and we will investigate.

well i figured out that it was actually because when i put the dvd in the first time i was still trying to get dvds to play and didn't have anydvd installed yet. Then once I installed anydvd it put it in as a duplicate title... kinda odd right lol.

Also if I uncheck auto import dvds then when i put in a dvd it doesn't bring it up in the menu or show me the cover art. It'd be nice to have that option. Something you should think about for an upcoming release is to have a checkbox that allows you to hide dvds that aren't inserted. I wouldn't think it would be too hard since you already have it coded to show them as red text.

Just something to chew on. I just might be the only person who doesn't rip their movie collection to disk. Maybe once I get a terabyte drive or two. Would still be something nice for when you borrow movies or rent movies. That way you can still get the nice interface. I am trying to shy away from using anything other than TVSeries for my shows I collect and MovingPictures for the movies I have.

We have a handful of planned enhancements for disk support, most of which are listed here. It's just a matter of finding the time. ;)
