ripping the dvds (1 Viewer)

Hi, i'm planning on moving back to media portal after a stint on the dark side (VMC) lol The reason i stop using MP was because myTV and TVServer kep crashing but recently i found this to be the TV card (Nova TD-500) which i have sent back to hauppauge to be replaced with a T-500 which should hopefully fix the problem. So i want to move back to MP

I also run Home Server and believe MP would be better with all my files (i.e. music and video)

Well i have ripped most of my dvds to the HDD and this worked fine but i really like the look of the tv series plugin this is one reason to go back to media portal. The other reason is i just dont like how MyMovies handles all my dvds and loved media portal way more.

As i had already ripped the dvds i'm now re-encoding them into single episodes in avi format

my question is:
Are there any naming conventions i should be sticking to? at the minute i am using

American Dad/ Season 1/ American Dad S01e01

and so on. Will mpTVseries plugin pick these up and know what they are?

thanks for the reply! Is the episode name a necessity? I mean will the plugin search the net and find the epsode names anyway?

I want the episode name to appear in media portal rather than the filename. I thought that once parsed the episode name would be found on TVDB.com (i checked and all my current tv series are listed)?

the episode name isn't a necessity. TVSeries should just be able to look at the name as you have it and import the rest of the data.

I just started using TVSeries a few weeks ago and I love it. I don't know how I watched TV before

Thanks for the help guys evrythin cleared up now just have the easy part. Re-encode my dvds!!! lol I think with this plugin media portal is for the pc what xbmc was for the xbox
