What's the reason for this?

Team decision

To be clear: There is no decision (in my knowledge) to do 1.9, 1.10 (and 1.11, 1.12...), there is just no decision to kill MP1.

I agree very much with you, @RicoHTPC , but devs and other members decide where they want to focus their work.

That being said, the team-members that focus on MP2 has grown (and some "MP1-only devs" have left the ship) and I do have hope that once MP2 leaves ALPHA (or in a state where it is quite feature comeple), the team focus will change. I'm not quite sure if the entire HTPC-thing has a future. If it does, I'm pretty sure that MP1 is not the reason for it...
