Ok

Here is what I try, first off I tried the old version but with another spotify account and it didnt crash, everything worked as it should.

then I've updated and tried again whit the other account, everything perfect, so I switched back to my account, and even if it worked a lot better, no more "oops" message it crashed but its not so often at all. So far evrerytime i tried I could enter and start playing my playlists, the crash will come after a few seconds in a song. (in a few times, even after a fresh reboot)

My guess is that it must be something whith the structure of my playlists, I dont have abnormal many, but i do have playlists in folders if thats matter, like this: Spotify - now with folders! - Spotify
but I've have to try it some more before i can give some fair opinion.

And here is the log from the crash.

Edit: just a quick edit, I've change my password from a very long to a shorter, and removed my only starred song and now everything seems just fine, will try it some more tomorrow :)

1. Are you sure you have enabled DEBUG logging in MP Configuration -> General?
2. There are no crash-related errors in your logs, were these logs collected after the crash?
3. Are you using SAF codec pack? There has been some hard crash issues with it. (If you don't know what it is then you probably won't be using it)
4. Also try disabling ALL other plugins and try to reproduce the crash

Hmm... I think i've forgot the debug mode. Will check that tonight
And no i dont have SAF codec pack, the only codec installed are lav codecs which come with the installation of online video plugin. And system is a fresh installed win 7

I will try disable all plugins if the problem comes back.

Ok i've tried rockstar a lot more now, and it is a lot better after your last update, but it still crash from time to time, and here is a debug log from the last one.
I have not yet disable all other plugin, but will try that next, have been on work a lot lately :D

Really love the plugin! Cheers!!

Ok I found another possible problem in the code but what I need to know is:

    1. What you mean by crash? Does the whole MP crash and close without any information or what?
    2. When this "crash" occurs, what are you doing, are you playing a song in Rockstar, navigating in Rockstar in some specific section, both, or what?

    1. The Windows message: program is not responding followed by three options, search online, close program of wait for it to respond pops up. Like this message in the link: What to Do When a Program Crashes in Windows 7 - O'Reilly Answers
And mp becoms either totaly unresponsive until I close the program and restart it again, or sometimes it il keep running just fine in the background of this message.

    2. 100% of the times the crash happens i am in the "My playlist" sektion and has start playing a song from there. But it is only the first time, if for exampel if i have already played à song without à crash happend it Will not return wathever i do. Untill i restart mediaportal. It is à bit tricky to explain :/ But the procedure i do to prevent the crash, and this ALWAYS work, i Go in to rockstar navigate to popular songs list, and start playing à song from there, after that i can navigate to My playlist without any problem. Works every time.

Please try the attached version and report back.

It would also suggest you to disable all other plugins which are not "required" in daily-use like fanart handler, latest media handler, infoservice etc. and see if the problem appears.

Tried it a lot since yesterday and with the beta2 it is impossible to reproduce the crash, so I've think you fixed the problem now :D
Also tried with all plugins and everything works just fine!
    So what cause the problem?

    Hi Seco,

Firstly, thanks for all your work on this plugin, it's great!

However, I'm also having problems, so I thought I'd upload my logs in case it helps. I did have Rockstar working ages ago (can't remember which version) however I've now tried several versions in this thread (including the latest) and not been able to get Rockstar working with Spotify.

    Some background:
Win 7 Enterprise, running as a standard user.
    StreamedMP skin
    Latest version of MediaPortal
    I am using SAF 6

The problem I now have is that when I open Rockstar it can't show any playlists or do any searches, so I can't find anything to play. However, if I run as Administrator the plugin works as expected.

I've attached 2 sets of logs, both running as a standard user (when nothing works) and as an administrator (when everything in Rockstar seems to work).

    Hi,

Thanks for reporting the issue. It will be fixed in the upcoming 2.1.1 version. Meanwhile, if you want to use your non-administrator account, you need to delete the configuration file (default C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Rockstar.xml) and re-configure the plugin. Because of the bug, you cannot switch back to the admin user or you need to delete the configuration file again.

    Hi,

Thanks for the quick response, I've now got it working temporarily.

I tried deleting the config file and then reconfiguring, however when I open the MediaPortal Configuration it prompts for an administrator password, so I still ended up doing the configuration as a different user to the one that's running MediaPortal which meant that Rockstar didn't work (I guess it's this that's causing the issue).

However, setting my "normal" user as an administrator, then running the config (as my "normal" user, but now with admin rights), then setting my "normal" user back to not being an admin allowed the plugin to work.

So I'm now running MediaPortal as a non-admin user, and Rockstar works with Spotify.

I have released version 2.1.1 of the Rockstar plugin, update is available for download in the following URL or by using MPEI.

    Changelog & download

This release addresses all the known issues reported after 2.1 release. There won't be any new releases before the summer since I'm going to be travelling for the next 3 months. Meanwhile, feel free to post any issues or questions in this thread.
