RSS Feed on the home page - Few Questions... (4 Viewers)

First off, long time user, first time poster!

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could help. Ive managed to add some code to the main source, to add a RSS Feed to the bottom. The only problem is, it takes a good 6 seconds to start up and be able to view/use. I start up the reader in the OnPageLoad(), which i think slows the whole program down. Any idea's to where i can put the loader?

Also, as I have changed the actual source code for the Home Plugin (brilliantly made by Bavarian by the way), how would I go about releasing what i have done for people to use? Below is a picture from what i have so far as well.

secondly....awesome stuff. I would find this feature great if it could be incorporated. This is a feature I have been hanging out for RSS on the home screen.

Well the extra code has been put into the Home part (of Windows Plugins) of the source code, so i don't really know how i would go about sending it for people to have a look at. Also, I am having trouble making it visible/invisible in the skin .xml file.

If people were interested I could get something up by the end of the week, I guess.

this would be a great feature.

A similar thing was introduced a while ago, where an icon for the current weather was displayed on the home screen, but for some reason it caused some other errors and was taken out. I think to fix it was going to be a big effort. If you can get something like thast working, excellent

Brilliant, looks like people would like to see this implemented.

Will try and see if I can get the weather implemented as well then. Also, im not to sure how people would test this out either, as the code is implemented INSIDE the home plugin. But I guess I will cross that bridge when I come testing!

This is just the thing that media portal needs.

Your correct about getting the code into the Home plug maybe the mods can pass on the code to the devs and they will include it in future releases of mediaportal.
