SAF unlock, why? What is there to gain? (1 Viewer)

Hi, I'm reading about SAF codec pack (LAV) and something about unlocking SAF. I'm not clear what this unlocking means... What is there to gain by unlocking? How does one unlock SAF?

I think it has something to do with cyberlink power dvd codecs? It should be better for de-interlacing? But I'm not sure.

I've power DVD 11 installed but am unable to choose any of its codecs for use with MP.

I hope someone can clarify things for me.

You need to pm hoborg (or as its now called "start a conversation"), he will then send you a link to the unlock key, which when downloaded needs to be in the same place as the SAF installer, then run installer and it will install the extra PDVD codec, which you can then access in MP config.

I have been using MP for well over 5 years. Only recently after I got the Unlock for SAF have I experienced a truly stable system. No more Codec issues. God knows how many weekend I spent tinkering with the settings.
