Top-tip: go into ffdshow settings screen. In the bottom of the screen on the left is a button: EXPORT ALL SETTINGS. It gives you a .reg file which you can run after upgrading: then all your settings will be restored. I use it every time, works great!

In nearly all new SAF version FFDshow setup is updated. If you import old FFDshow setting, it can broke something...

Unfortunatelly that didn't fix the problem

Seems as if it's not correct that there is no shuttering within the first playback...
I do have shuttering there, too

I made a screenshot of my graphs.
Hope there's anybody out there who knows what's the matter with them?!

EDIT: I forgot to tell you something... Yesterday I recorded some live TV in SD and HD.
But I am not able to play the files!! Neither MP nor VLC nor MPC plays them and also Graphstudio can't open them!!
What's the matter with my system??

I have a few questions:

• In the ffdshow settings I noticed that Crop/Zoom is active. You wrote that it removes black borders, however, does this option actually detect whether the content is letterboxed or not? Or is simply every content zoomed?
  
  
• Is there something you have to set in order to let the GPU deinterlace the decoded MPEG-2 content from ffdshow (NV12 output?)? I mean if you use a standalone ffdshow installation and not SAF. In the past I always activated yadif because the content was never deinterlaced by the GPU on any installation, when I used ffdshow. So I wonder if I simply missed a setting.
  
  
• From my own experience and a few threads I know that audio and video goes out of sync when ffdshow is used for LiveTV MPEG-2 decoding (primarily under Windows XP it seems). Is it known yet why this happens?

Not sure about orher countries, but here in Czech rep. all broadcasters have small black borders around video and all DVDs have this eighter. It is beacouse all TVs using overscan (zoom). For example my LCD TV have much bigger overscan on LiveTV than SAF crop.
SAF will remove 5 or 6 pixels, so i dind think this will affect anything in bad way. You can always use SAF PDVD decoder for LiveTV/DVD if you want to see 100.

Hello Everybody!

Does anyone uses a G45 and is able to play vc-1 BluRay without stuttering? h264 BluRays work very well, but it seems that the codec of SAF works with that part of vc-1 GPU acceleration, that couldn't work with G45 GPU acceleration. In PowerDVD8 G45 could play every BluRay (h264 and also vc-1).

Hi Spooky,
I confim this too. I always had problems with MePo + ffdshow and live TV... under XP and Vista, I used PWDVD decoder instead. Now I'm on Win7 but I didn't test it, I use Win7 decoder that work fine for Live TV SD & HD.

After installing SAF 5 (which uninstalled SAf 4 during set up), my Arcsoft TMT 3 no longer works properly. It will start up but not plat anything? Has this happened to anyone else at all?

a reinstall fixed TMT3 but I've been getting a lot of stuttering on some 720p rips with FFDShow DXVA, but if I switch to the Cyberlink 10 codec for h264 instead it plays ok.
