Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

I solved my problem that i had earlier in this topic.
After a complete reinstall.

Problem:
No sound with DTS and other digital soundformats. mp3 sound worked fine.

specs
onboard geforce 8300 HDMI (>Onkyo 508)

Solution
The master volume was not on 100% with mp3 this isn`t a problem. But with digital output there will be no sound if they master line is to low.

I Hope that this message saves other people a lot of trouble(reinstall):D

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

I am sorry if this has already been asked several times, but I am having issues getting my computer to play 1080P mkv's smoothly in Windows 7 64 bit. I just upgraded from Vista Business 32 bit, where I managed to get everything to play smoothly, but can't remember all the settings I had to do to get it. Currently the only thing I have installed on the computer is the latest version of MP, StreamMP, and SAF V5 unlocked. The video's play fine when I use windows media player, but not when I use MediaPortal. So I think it is a codec issue or not using the ATI hardware acceleration. Can you guys help me figure out what setting I should use, in MediaPortal, ffdshow, etc?

    Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 5000+ 2.6
Mother Board: GIGABYTE GA-MA78GM-S2H (780g chip set) using the on board video ATI HD3200
I installed the latest ATI drivers 11.1
    Memory: 2 GB

    Thanks for the help,
    Topp

What video decoder are you using for HD? ffdshow DXVA? Did you try PDVD (as you have SAF unlock)?
On my side I have the best result with PDVD for 1080p mkv (h264 and VC-1).
My software config is very similar to yours with W7 64 bits, last MP, SAF 5 unlock and streamMP.
My GPU is more powerfull (Nvidia 9600GT) but if everything worked fine for you on Vista it should be also fine on W7.

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Well I used the Graphstudio program to see what it was using for the decoder. I will try to post the picture later, but for some reason it wasn't a H.264 file, but a MPEG-2. I tried all the different decoders and the Windows DTV, that other computer is being occupied by the wife, used the lowest resources. I am not exactly sure why it was a MPEG-2 file, when it the description, first box on the left in Graphstudio, it had H.264. I will try to mess around with it some more later. I am sure I am giving something up by using the windows versus the ffdshow decoder.

    Thanks,
    Topp

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

For some reason all of my H264 videos won't play anymore.
When starting them MP freezes also and I have to force MP to close via taskmanager.

Attached are three logs, VC1 plays fine. H263 (typo ) doesn't play at all and the other one is with auto decoder settings on.
With that setting on the H264 seems te start but when it wants to go to fullscreen it stops......

Im running the latest versions of MP, SAF and MovingP. Updated today but I have these problems for a couple of month now and it is really begining to get me a little mad about it. Because everything I tried doesn't work.

So if someone can help :)

O and mayby good to know is that on my laptop everything plays fine, VC1 and H264.

It plays fine in graphstudio, but then in the h264 stream the subtitle gets connected aswel and in the mp graph the subtitle stream doesn't get connected....
I have enabled passtrough because I use a receiver, should I reinstal without passtrough and than manually enable it?

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

    SAF 5.00 SVN20110302 out:
    - ALL - MPC-HC filters/player updated to rev. 1.4.1.2910
    - ALL - FFDShow updated to rev.3751

You should now be able to play any VC-1 files with correct timestamps (no more slow playback). Only limitation is to have DxVA off (default SAF setting) for VC-1, becouse if you turn it on, you wont be able to play interlaced VC-1.
Of course this will need ~3GHz CPU for FullHD VC-1 videos.

Can you explain to me how I enable dxva for vc-1p ? where do I find this specific setting in ffdshow.
I dont have any vc-1i, so I want to enable dxva it by default.

Thank you for the work!!! :) it still rocks.

    START-SAF-FFDShow DxVA decoder - here enable VC-1.

BTW, i just upload SAF test build with support of this audio files:

    • AAC, ALAC, APE, FLAC, MP3, MPC, TTA, WV
    • Shoutcast: MP3, AAC, OGG
    • Tracker: MO3, IT, XM, S3M, MTM, MOD, UMX

    EDIT:
All trackers format working great, remainds me good old Amiga times. Oh memories... :D
