Re: SAF v5.00 *final* (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hi - not sure if this has been reported (I searched but didn't see it - apologies if I've missed it)

With SAF v5.00 and ffdshow set as the audio codec it seems like for mkv files with multiple audio tracks it *always* plays the first audio track - regardless of which track is set as the "default track". This seems to be a new issue because back in SAF v4.00 (and ffdshow set as audio codec) it correctly uses the default information in the mkv header.

I went back as far as saf500svn100512 and the issues was still present (can find the point that it was introduced.).

Is this a setting somewhere in ffdshow? (if so, I can't find it) Are there logs that would be useful in diagnosing the issue? Is there anything I can do to help??

Hi.
This is caused by MPC Matroska splitter. SAF4 is based on Haali, SAF5 use MPC matroska splitter.
In SAF6 there will be possible to set default language (ENG,GER,FRE,etc...) SAF6 should be able to set it automatically acording installed OS.

Hi Hoborg - thanks for posting :)

Bummer about the MPC Matroska splitter - do you need an alpha tester for v6?? (When do you think v6 will start being available?)

BTW thanks for this great tool - it's awesome :)

In SAF6 there will be possible to set default language (ENG,GER,FRE,etc...) SAF6 should be able to set it automatically acording installed OS.

Will it be possible to choose a list of languages that are preferred when a video file or DVD has multiple languages? Like this:

    1. Swedish
    2. English

I watch lots of animation with my kids, that's why I have Swedish dubs at the top of the list, but sometimes I have multiple language rips of action/thrillers, and then I prefer English unless the film/show I watch is from Asia, Spain etc. I know that audio switching is pretty easy, but it can be quite annoying when you watch a TV series and the splitter defaults to Italian (dub) when the show is English originally.

I look forward to SAF 6, SAF 5 is awesome! :D
