Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

ISSUE
I have troubleshooted a bit with some files that I can't get working and I've narrowed it down to it being related to the file having multiple audio streams. In GraphStudio they play fine, MP logs don't show anything dirty. The problem is that when I press play the screen turns black for a second or so after which it returns to MovPic screen and the movie is marked as watched. Same thing happens in MyVideos.

What could be up? Anyone know whether this is a known issue in MP? I have this in both x264 and VC-1 files I know of.
EDIT: It seems this is caused by MPC... other that had this as well have fixed it with Haali.

It is related to ffdshow... if I try to play the same file using Microsoft decoder it works fine.....

I have managed to connect to remote graph in the split second before it returns to MovPic from black screen... image shown below.

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

I've got SAF5.00 beta1 installed and I don't see MPC video decoder as an option anymore under MP Config MPEG-2 video decoder, just Cyberlink and ffdshow.

I also don't have any MPCxxx.ax files in my MediaPortal folder. I tried putting the MPCVideoDec.ax file in there and registering it, but it still doesn't show as an option.

Can anyone help me get it back as I'm having some problems with crashes with bad TV signal at the moment and need to test with the MPC decoder to troubleshoot?

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Finally i have figured out my problem with FLV files under Windows 7..

With default FLVSplitter.ax from the SAF5, the FLV videos would always download fully and then start to play (tested with OnlineVideos and 2 other plugins).

First i unregistered FLVSplitter.ax, then i replaced and registered using this version: FLV Splitter - Video software and downloads - VideoHelp.com. Voila, the FLV video streaming started working fine ;)

hoborg, any reason not to include this FLVSplitter?

This 2 filters are based on the same source code :)

nevertheless, there has to be differences, with the one included in SAF5 i had streaming issues (only on Win7), with this other one, none;)

I had *clean* Win7 install, no additional codecs or anything else, just MediaPortal RC1 + SVN + SAF5 installed..
In OnlineVideos, when playing (for example) YouTube videos from FLV (not MP4, MP4 worked fine), i had to wait for a minute or even more before video started (from this i draw the conclusion that the videos are being downloaded first). Now, after i replaced FLVSplitter.ax, videos start instantly and buffer in the background..

I had the same after installing the latest saf 5, didn't saw the mpc video decoder anymore in the media portal configuration.
I then downloaded the stand alone filters that contains the file MPCVideoDec.ax and registering it with regsvr32 helped.
Is the mpc video decoder not contained anymore by saf 5?

Why it should be here? FFDShow DXVA decoder continue where MPC-HC video decoder ends.
And again - MPC-HC video decoder is not MPEG-2 decoder! :)
