I realise that, it was late and I thought I was being helpful by testing for corruption

Working fine here (but i do not have DXVA hardaware here), will try it at home.

I can confirm stuttering if DXVA is on. Looks like PDVD problem, MPC-HC/FFDShow DXVA decoder refuse play it at all.
Use Win7 video decoder until it will be fixed on PDVD side (even PDVD player have stuttering in DXVA is on).

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

    Hi,

i have a Problem using SAF 5.00. If i try to play a movie with DTS MA Mediaportal did not do anything. Start --> Stop. Nothing happens.

If i use MPC-HD i see ffdshow audio decoder:

    Input: 96000 Hz, 8 Channels 1536kbps DTS
    Out: S/PDIF (1401)

but no Sound again... my AVR says: "Decoder off"

Mediaportal log is empty... no errors at all.
I can't find SAF Logs on SystemRoot or somewhere else

    My System:

    Win 7 Home Premium, 32bit
    AMD 5050e
    Gigabyte Board 780g chip 3200HD
    2 GB Ram

Clean installation with MP + SAF 5.00, Catalyst 10.5 using S/PDIF for Audio

    Could anyone help?

    Thanks

Try add/remove FFDShow audio decoder to MePo postprocessing.

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

I am having problems with DXVA and a mkv created using mkvmerge from a Sherlock Holmes VC-1 Blu-ray. This was ripped at birate of 20,000.

I have two machines, both with the latest SAF 5.0 installed and Win7 x64. The main difference between the machines is one has a 1GB HD4850 (my Gaming box) and the other a 1GB 9600GT (my HTPC). On the gaming machine, the mkv plays fine with DXVA (HD4850 Cat 10.6) in MP and WMP. However, on the HTPC I get no DXVA and very stuttery play back as the CPU jumps around above 50%. The driver is version 197.12.

I have opened the filter graph in graphstudio for both machines and there was no difference. The WMV Decoder DMO is being used instead of FFdshow DXVA or Cyberlink Video Decoder 10. When I try and rebuild a graph using FFdshow or Cyberlink I cannot connect either back to the EVR render.

    Now to my questions:
    1. Why the difference between the two? Why does the ATI card do DXVA and not the 9600GT?
    2. How can I replace the WMV Decoder DMO filter with one that supports DXVA for VC-1 progressive?

It is easy, 9600GT does not support VC-1 DXVA decoding, only h.264 is supported.

I can confirm stuttering if DXVA is on. Looks like PDVD problem, MPC-HC/FFDShow DXVA decoder refuse play it at all.
Use Win7 video decoder until it will be fixed on PDVD side (even PDVD player have stuttering in DXVA is on).

Glad it's not just me and a handful of other people. I had the same issue with MPC and FFD not playing it at all as well. I take it that being a codec issue it is out of your hands and down to Cyberlink. Saying that, could you revert to an older PDVD codec (if it worked? not tried it yet):)

PDVD 9 codec from SAF 4 have the same problem, so no, i cant.
Use Win7 MS video decoder until PDVD fix it ...
