Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

    Hi,

I messed with all the output settings, and nothing changed.

Downloading an updated graphic driver now. Fingers crossed.

    Thanks for all your help.

    Hope it will help.
Please test it in graphstudio, not MePo.

Updating graphics drivers made no difference at all. The file renders fine in graphstudio, although I don't really know what I am looking at there.

I guess on this system, libavcodec does not like MPEG1. I'll just disable MPEG1 and let the next codec handle it in MP.

I will also install SAF on a different system to see if this is a general problem.

    Thanks once again.

Just open your file in graphstudio then hit play buton.

If video plays fine here, it is player problem, not codec.

It is aesier to locate problem this way.

    Hi,

When MP is playing the file, this is what I get.

I should not have MPC in the graph, right?

    Your graph is correct.
If you hover your cusor over red FFDshow systray icon - what "Output:" do you have here?

Okay, I finally got it to play by setting the video rendered to VMR9. It does not play with EVR.

Since I am using Vista, I should really be using EVR, I guess.

OK, does your video play in graphstudio or not?

Yes it does, but it uses VMR, not EVR. However, if I remove the VMR renderer in graphstudio and replace it with EVR, it still plays fine.

I'm at a complete loss here, and I'm taking far too much of your time.

Yes it does, but it uses VMR, not EVR.

EVR should be default video renderer (SAF changed merrit). You need to restart your PC after SAF install to take effect - did you do that?

So please try to restart, then try to play your MPEG-1 sample again in graphstudio - is EVR default now?

BTW, do you have ICQ installed?

    Hi,

I have restarted for the second time after installing SAF, and when I render the file in graphstudio, I still have VMR video renderer by default.

Either way, since it plays with VMR or EVR in graphstudio, it should do the same in MP, right?

I think my solution of disabling MPEG1 in ffdshow is probably the simplest, but if you do want to find a solution, I am more than happy to help.

Just to confirm, when you play this in MediaPortal with EVR, it still plays fine?
