Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Working fine now:D
But menus still don't play... Is anything to do with BR Handler?

None of "free" players support blue-ray menus, if you want them, you need to use comercial player like PDVD10 as externall app.

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

Hi Hoborg, i have 2 questions:

    1) in SAF 4 instruction i read:
"Choosing audio output method: Analogue or SPDIF
If you have an external device connected to your htpc, which is capable of decoding AC3 and DTS streams (like a dts-receiver), you should configure ffdshow to use SPDIF passthrough. To get SPDIF passthrough functioning in mediaportal, you need to add "ffdshow Audio decoder" to the post processing list ........ "
Why? I Thinks is sufficient to set ffdshow audio decoder like audio decoder and configure it to works in S/PDIFF mode.
Why add ffdshow in PP section too?

    2) I possible to use PDVD9/10 for BR disc? Or i must to unistal it? (I read: "unistall all player .......")

    Thanks.

To get SPDIF passthrough functioning in mediaportal, you need to add "ffdshow Audio decoder" to the post processing list
    Why?

For example if you have LiveTV in AAC or QuickTime 5.1 audio, etc... and you want to passthrough it:
In MePo LiveTV 5.1 AAC is decoded by "MONOGRAM AAC Decoder" then send to audio renderer as 5.1 PCM. If you want to passthrough it, you need to add FFDshow audio decoder to MePo postprocessing. Then 5.1 AAC is decoded by "MONOGRAM AAC Decoder" then decoded audio is sended as 5.1 PCM to FFDshow audio decoder where is on the fly encoded to 5.1 AC3 and it is passthrough to reciever.

In graphstudio this process is done fully automatically, but MePo doesnot respect default OS settings, so FFDshow audio decoder needs to be aded to graph by "force".

    Hope you understand now.

It is recomended to use older version 7.x, but 8 or 9 can be fine too (not sure about v.10)...
Just remember you need to install SAF as last one.

PS: PDVD is really messy "codec pack", so installing it is not recomended by me.

    thanks for your replays :)

wich BluRay player can safely coexist with SAF? (instead of PDVD):
    - Splash player (BR version not released yet)
    - TMT
    - ?????

I use TMT with no problems.

Re: SAF v5.00 experimental (based on FFDShow DXVA decoder)

    Hi, I've a little issue...

It worked all well in the beginning, now my 720p/1080p mkv's stutter when played back. (No, I've not changed a bit in the system's config! ;) )
The sound as well as the video stutters.
Played in MPC-HC using the same codec (ffdshow dxva) all plays well with great quality. back in MP it stutters.
Settings in MP Config as per page one here.
    Anyone an idea???

    Attached what graphedit says....
