Hoborg, I have a problem. I use the latest SAF5 but I have this issue with many other versions earlier.
When I select all decoders as stated in the first post most of my MKVs are played using ffdshow DXVA but when playing AVI files I get no sound output.
However when I set "Use automatic codec settings"I do get sound with my AVI files but now some of my MKVs won't playback and DXVA is not used at any time.
Is there any solution?

If needed I can reproduce and get you some logs, just let me know! Thanks!

Does your files work in graphstudio?

Ok, just found that they work fine using MPC internal dts decoder... So how can i use this decoder in MP?
Also found that the movies with issues have more than one audio track... English, other language. All of my movies with multiple audio tracks don't work in MP, only in MPC...

Look for "MpaDecFilter.ax" in MePo folder and double click on it. If you have SAF installed, decoder should be registered.

BTW, are you sure you do not have anything in MePo postprocessing?

Now it shows on MP config, but the problem remains... Could it be related to the splitter? What splitter uses MPC with it own default codecs?

I want to watch movies with bitstream TrueHD / DTS-HD MA audio. (not LPCM)
I want to buy an Asus Xonar HDAV1.3 slim sound card to bypass my internal soundcard (Realtek ALC889A) to bitstream TrueHD / DTS-HD MA to my receiver (Denon AVR-1911) so it can decode the sound.
HTPC: Intel E8400, Gigabyte GA-E7AUM-DS2H (with Nvidia Geforce 9400 chipset / IGP)

Is bitstream TrueHD / DTS-HD MA possible with MediaPortal + Asus Xonar HDAV1.3 slim sound card + SAF 5.0 and audio passthrough (hdmi-cable)?
Further... I've read somewhere that bitstream TrueHD / DTS-HD MA is only possible with an external player like TotalMedia Theatre ?

i have problems playing *.mov files from my Canon IXUS 200 IS with SAF5. Clean install on Win7 (32/64 Bit - no matter), Mediaportal 1.1.1 and SAF5 - no other software!

I see the video in MediaPortal but the sound is very stuttering - like Darth Vader ;-) - same Problem in GraphStudio!

If i deactivate the support for uncompressed audio in FFDShow the video is playing fine - but of course no sound.

In MPCHC the video plays fine only if i activate the internal QTPCM filter. In Windows Media Player the Video always plays fine with low CPU usage.

Can you tell my how to play the movies in MediaPortal? Please have a look at the sample.

I had the same problem with canon videos. Try to deactivate "Encode only 5.1ch streams" in FFDshow audio configuration. Works fine for me...

encode only 5.1ch streams is deactivated at me. If i activate AC3 encoding (and deactivate encode only 5.1 streams) the video plays fine in MP but there is no sound. GraphStudio shows that ffdshow audio decoder is no more in the Graph...

so your answer doesn't work for me...

I have an issue with my homemade HD videos. If I start them directly in Graphstudio FFDShow DXVA is used. If I start them in Mediaportal FFDShow WITHOUT DXVA is used. Any Ideas?

I have this Problem on 2 different HTPCs and on my TestPC and i have no idea what to do... maybe a soundcard issue ? I have on all machines realtek hd soundchips but i have tried different drivers including the ones that are integrated into Win7...

on my HTPC in the living room i use passthrough (SP/DIF) to Receiver, in the sleeping room i use only 2 stereo speakers and the Problem appears on both PCs
