Hello all ...

I install SAF5 on 2 computers at home.
On one of them (Win7 - 32bits), at the beginning of the installation i can see : "Download Enabled" .... then SAF5 seems to be UNLOCKED
On the other ( Win7 - 64bits) : "Donwload Disabled" ...>>>> Locked version
why this difference between my 2 computers ?

1. I have problems with the h.264 Video codec in "Video" section. When I change the codecs in the config, it doesn't have any effect in MePo. I tried this with Graphstudio. It's using the ffdshow video decoder all the time. No matter if I try the PDVD10 Codec or the ffshow DXVA decoder.
edit:I've tried to change the mpeg2 codec and it works. But i still wonder why my Video ist played as mpeg2. I played it in DXVAChecker as h264.

2. Any idea why can't use the ffdshow dxva video decoder for HD TV playback? Picture freezes directly after starting the TV channel.

1. Did you try to disable the h264 codec in ffdshow? This is what I have done, I disable h264 and VC-1 to have PDVD handling these codecs.
2. Same for me, that's why I use PDVD for HD TV. If you are on Win7 you can also use the Microsoft player. They are the best options for HDTV.

Do you think that explain the difference ?

No i didn't tried to disable h264 and VC-1 yet(this will break DXVA, right). But I will later. Microsoft codecs don't work for me. I get many cubes and artefact. But i regonized, that using Mircosoft codecs is much faster for channal swiching (using WIN7 x64).

To users with *.MOV files playback problems:

Please try this SAF5 test build.
You need to have QTLite4 frameworks installed.
Now rename your not working *.MOV to *.MOVSD.

In this SAT5 build you have two options:

1) if extension is *.MOV - MPC MP4 splitter is used to split video and FFDshow is used to decode audio+video
2) if extension is *.MOVSD - Media looks QT source + QTLite4 QT frameworks is in use - this need more CPU power and there is no DxVA support.

Please try and report...

Hi hoborg, I get a lot of AVI-CHUNK-VIEWER with almost all of my HDTV divx rips, but only when selecting a video and pressing PLAY on my remote, then I need to Alt+Tab and then Alt+F4 to close It and resume normal playback.
If I select a movie and press OK on my remote (SMR-140) the movie plays fine with no avi-chunk-viewer.

I've only installed MPO and saf 5.00.

For the time being I've just renamed avisplitter.ax to avisplitter.bak and the problem is solved. I have no problems as far as I can tell, is it OK to leave it that way? Or is there a better solution? It's very annoying when I forget and press PLAY and I need to connect a keyboard to fix it.

This wiever apear on wrong encoded/damaged AVIs - they have broken header. By disabling avi splitter, some AVIs will fail to play.
You can fix errors by open and save (without recompresion) AVIs in VirtualDub or convert them to MKV in MKVMerge.[/QUOTE]

Thanks hoborg, I'm talking of complete TV seasons. I'll try the MKVMerge solution, I hope there is a batch file option.
If you know why this happens only when clicking on Play button, clicking the OK button starts a normal play without problems.

- ALL - MPC-HC filters/player updated to rev. 1.4.2776
- ALL - FFDShow updated to rev.3685
- ALL - dxwebsetup.exe updated to rev.9.29.1973
- ALL - readded QT source filter 1.7.1.10 for *.MOVSD files
- ALL - removed WinXP DVB fix - it is causing troubles in GB-PVR/nPVR
- ALL - SAF will now restore Win7 default prefered decoders if uninstalled

Hello i have a quistion first of all thanks for saf 5 works great
but i don,t have any sound in movie,s and tvseries i just follow your steps in your guide
i audio renderer i have several options i tried this 3
directsound loudspeakers {bose usb audio}
default direct sound device
loudspeaker [bose usb audio}
i thaught it muss be bose because those are mine loudspeakers on mine htpc but they don,t work in MP
i have several other options but i,am a little afraid to use them because MP works smootly now

digital audio[s/pdif] high d
direct sound digital audio [s/pdif high defenetion audio
direct sound loudspeakers [ati hdmi audio]
if someone now the answer please let me know
